How to prevent food poisoning while tailgating for nine hours before the food is served?
Once again we are tailgating, and our next game is not until 7:00 pm. In order to get a place to tailgate, we must arrive at 8:00. We want to serve both chicken and beef chili and pan greenbean grautin and potatoes (both of which contain milk and are served hot) around 17h00 (which is 9 hours we leave the house). How do I do to prevent foodborne illness with food? Do I cook it in advance, put it in a cooler, and warm it with an earthenware pot and a generator? Should I try to warm up on a propane stove? Or should I try to keep warm and isolated all day until it is served? Your help is appreciated!
Our family of 7 used to travel around the Philippines in a wagon loaded with a Weber Kettle BBQ station, oven cast iron Dutch cast iron skillet. With beef chili, I soak and pre-cooked beans, drain and place in cooler. All other ingredients are fried, cooled and packaged. BBQ chicken with its marinade, is packed in several layers of plastic bags and packed in the cooler. potatoes au gratin dishes are preprecooked Disposable aluminum, even with beans, and packed in the cooler. Small packages are easier to cool and heat large saucepan. Once there, you can assemble the chili in the crock pot, where it will perfemunch timeed by munchtime. Start charcoal grill for 1 hour before meals. Take the chicken, green beans and potatoes earth cooler one hour before serving. Start cooking the chicken on the charcoal (or gas-fbeforeBBQ) 30 minutes bfore dinner. Place the foil-wrapped beans and potatoes on the grill at the same time. Alternatively, you can use the barbecue to cook the chili the day. Use a heavy saucepan, iron, if you have one. Make everyone sees you brushing barbecue sauce over chicken. Have bottled water and a water sprayer to control outbreaks sudden. Sprinkle a little sauce from the BBC on the coals to produce smoke that will make wonderful mouth water and make everyone understand that your party is freshly prepared, not the day before. Bon Appetit!
